I recently purchased a sailing catamaran in Cairns, and asked Steve Larkin to perform the survey for me. He had been recommended by a friend who had used Steve's services in the past. This is the first time I have purchased a boat and commissioned a survey. Steve explained the process well, and provided good advice on the various survey options for my particular boat. Steve was flexible in fitting in with my work schedule, as well as communicating with the seller and making all necessary arrangements for lifting the vessel out of the water. I am especially grateful that he was able to rearrange his schedule at the last minute to fit in with last minute changes to the boat yard lifting schedule. During the survey, Steve attended with his assistant Simone, both of whom were very thorough in their work, while at the same time having an excellent demeanour in their interactions with the owner of the vessel - although they had lots of questions they were always made in a positive way that kept the seller on side. I attended the inspections and was impressed in the way that issues were noted and explained, with advice on whether these issues were significant, and what needed to be done about them.
